(Lt. Colonel ret) Combat Veteran of WWII, Korea & Vietnam totaling 697 aircraft combat missions – the USA national record. Strategic Air Command (SAC) Aircraft Commander B29, B47, C123, B52 carried Moscow as his nuclear target for 8 years. Distinguished as SAC select combat crew. Squadron Commander at Hurlburt AFB about 1968. After retirement in 1969, Bill founded a successful construction company, McCowen Homes Inc, building over 500 homes in Niceville, Fort Walton, Blue Water Bay & Rocky Bayou. State certified Contractor & Real Estate Broker, Commercial pilot’s license and piloted FiFi (B29) in 1998. Bill founded 3 Time Saver Automotive Oil and Lube Centers beginning in 1982 in Fort Walton, Shalimar, Destin – still in operation. Bill lives in Navarre and is presently engaged with an alternative energy research firm awarded international patents, Ion Power Group, with his son Clint.
